Illinois space-rock and heavy shoegaze veterans HUM have announced their first proper U.S. tour in more than a decade. The 12-date run spans March through July 2027 and follows the band’s well-received return at the 2026 Slide Away festivals—their first live shows since 2019.
The tour marks HUM’s first extended run since 2015 and their first since the 2021 death of longtime drummer Bryan St. Pere. Jason Gerken (Shiner) returns on drums. Support comes from Kansas City’s The Life and Times on multiple dates, with Chicago post-hardcore act Pelican and Brooklyn’s Spotlights joining on select East and West Coast shows.

Background on the Comeback
HUM essentially helped define American heavy shoegaze in the 1990s with albums You’d Prefer an Astronaut (1995) and Downward Is Heavenward (1997). After a long hiatus they returned with the surprise 2020 album Inlet. The 2026 Slide Away appearances (with Nothing and Chapterhouse) were the band’s first shows in nearly seven years and the first time they performed Inlet material live. Those sets received strong reactions and set the stage for this 2027 run.
Tickets and Where to Buy
Tickets went on sale to the general public in late October 2026 (general on-sale October 30 at 10 a.m. local time after an artist/presale window). Availability varies by date—some shows are already listed on major platforms.
- Primary source: Ticketmaster HUM page
- Check individual venue sites or resale marketplaces (SeatGeek, StubHub, Vivid Seats) for remaining inventory and price comparisons.
- Official announcements appeared on the band’s Instagram and were covered by Pitchfork, Stereogum, Consequence, Revolver, and others.
Prices and remaining inventory change quickly. Set alerts and compare all-in pricing across platforms. Face-value or lower options are most likely near the general on-sale window or if additional tickets are released closer to the show.
Why This Tour Matters
This is a rare chance to see one of the most influential (and long-dormant) acts in heavy alternative and shoegaze. Expect the set to draw heavily from the classic 1990s records plus material from Inlet. The rotating support bills (especially Pelican + Spotlights) make the East and West Coast dates particularly strong value for fans of atmospheric and post-hardcore guitar music.
